Praised for her expressive, warm sound, her captivating stage presence and her musical integrity, the Hungarian cellist is one of today’s most exciting and promising young artist.

Dorottya is a prize winner of numerous national and international competitions, including the David Popper International Cello Competition or the Mahler Cello Prize, recipient of the Keltenklang, Forum Hungaricum and Ursula Grill Scholarships and has been awarded the Honorary Prize of the city Graz.

Since September 2023 she is Lecturer for Violoncello at the Friedrich Gulda School of Music.

She is a passionate chamber musician and has performed at many renowned music festivals, such as the Styrian Chamber Music Festival, the Arsonore Festival, the Sounding Jerusalem Festival, the Moldo Crescendo Festival or the Altolivenza Festival and was also invited to participate at the YMCG Festival in China under the artistic direction of Yo-Yo Ma and Michael Stern.

Dorottya is a member of the sought-after young ensemble, the Oberton String Octet. Their debut CD was released in March 2020 under the title “Slavic Soul” on the German label ARS and was nominated for two of the most important German music awards, for the German Record Critics' Award and in three categories for the renowned Opus Klassik.

She is also a member of the Ensemble XXI. Jahrhundert, with whom they promote the masterpieces of the 20th and 21st centuries and has held a two-year academy position at the Tonkünstler Orchestra.

Dorottya has studied cello with Rudolf Leopold at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz and chamber music with Johannes Meissl at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, and obtained both of her Master of Arts degrees with distinction. She has received further musical impulses from Heinrich Schiff, Steven Isserlis, Gautier Capucon, Claudio Bohorquez, Patrick Demenga, Dmitri Ferschtman and Reinhard Latzko, among others.
